Logistics courses in Kerala: what the market actually hires for
Kerala’s logistics jobs are concentrated in Kochi – Cochin Port and the Vallarpadam container terminal, the airport cargo complex, the Kalamassery and Kakkanad warehouse belt and the hundreds of freight forwarders, shipping agencies, courier hubs and 3PLs around them – with second tiers in Kozhikode (Beypore, Cyberpark), Thiruvananthapuram (Vizhinjam, Technopark) and the Kannur and Thrissur trade belts. The three routes
The one-year PG Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management with SAP is for graduates of any stream. The Diploma with SAP is for plus two students. The MBA route adds a university MBA to the PG Diploma for students who want the degree and the job skills together. All three teach the same core modules – freight forwarding, warehousing and inventory, customs documentation, shipping and port operations, transport planning, SAP MM in the lab, Excel and ERP for logistics, communication and interviews – and carry certificates from Medhavi Skills University, STED Council and NSDC plus a separate SAP certificate.
Where students go afterwards
Placement support leads to freight forwarding operations, logistics coordinator, dispatch coordinator, warehouse supervisor, hub in-charge, supply chain analyst, documentation executive and inside sales coordinator; freight forwarding operations is the most common first role. Employers who have hired Laurus students include Flipkart, XpressBees, CUMI, TVS, Hyatt Regency, DMX Logistics, Galactico Express Solutions, AGS Logistics, Jayem Express Cargo, Symega Foods, Elite Foods, Cyrix Healthcare, Logifex Freight Services and Meridian Express. Laurus offers placement support, not a guaranteed job with a third-party employer; salary depends on the employer and role.
Choosing between institutes in Kerala
